RESONANT BODIES
Katie Caie grew up in Toronto, where her yoga journey began at the age of 17. What started as simple curiosity quickly became a lifelong passion, as she discovered how movement could open the door to awareness and transformation. With a background as a gymnast, Katie was drawn to the physical practice, but soon realized that yoga reaches far beyond the body into the way we live, breathe, and connect.
For more than two decades, Katie has dedicated herself fully to teaching yoga. Her path has led her across the world from Hong Kong and Singapore to Bangkok, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Los Angeles, and Brussels before finding her home in Amsterdam. Along the way, she has continued to study, refine, and deepen her practice. She is a 500 RYT certified teacher through YogaMazé.
Katie’s classes are rooted in the precision of Iyengar and the creativity of Katonah Yoga. They are known to be both dynamic and challenging, yet always grounded in kindness. Her teaching encourages students to develop strength and resilience while fostering a compassionate and positive relationship with themselves.
In Amsterdam, you can practice with Katie in group classes or book a private therapeutic session either in your own home or at the Resonant Bodies space.
katonah yoga
Katonah Yoga is a Hatha-based practice from New York, developed by Nevine Michaan over the past 45 years. It weaves together Chinese medicine, Taoist philosophy, geometry, metaphor, mythology, and imagination, creating a rich and layered approach to yoga.
Central to the practice are themes such as asana, as origami folding and unfolding the body to discover function, form, and personal measure. This way of working allows you to orient yourself in space, to see where you usually go, where you avoid, and how to find balance in between.
The theory of Katonah Yoga is rooted in three guiding principles:
• All polarities are mediated by a third thing.
• The universe has a pattern, and patterns imply intelligence.
• Through repetition, insight becomes possible.
Katonah Yoga invites you to question habits, expand your perspective, and explore new angles both within your body and in your life. It places you at the center of your circumstances, offering tools and techniques to live well, with vitality and joy.
